Rest in peace our Good Friend, thank you for giving us everything you had. You were part of our family and we loved you. Thanks for the Memories, you will be in our hearts Forever.

Hootchy's Last Ride - Marks a 75 Aug 2009 with JP Bell

 

God needed a Good Cowpony. "On October 8th, 2009 he took ours. Hootchy taught me to cut and our son, Hunter, how to ride. He was our first cutting horse. Look what he started! We feel so blessed to have had this tremedous horse in our lives, he had more heart than I've ever seen and his legacy will continue in his foals. Thank you to everyone who helped us with him- JP Bell & Jolynn and a special Thank You to Leigh Gall and all the other MCHA Members who gave us the nice card at the Oct. show- I know he touched many people's lives. Thank you Hootchy Kootchy Man for letting me show you and teaching me the art of Cutting - I will always love you. I never saw you lose a cow....and we held some tough ones. "The passing of Hootchy Kootchy Man was a huge shock and certainly blow to everyone involved with Hootch. In my 20 years of cutting I have a huge appreciation for great horses I've been blessed to ride a few. My definition of a great horse is there grit, heart, and athleticism.  Hootch demonstrated  all of the above and then some.  His disposition allowed him to handle any rider and any situation. He demonstrated that at the final show of his career. None of us at the time knew he was in any pain. Later we found out different. His ability to play with pain and his amazing love for his job, kept  him pushing all weekend. He marked a 75 it was a physical, fast past run, the kind you dream about. He could not of been better. I feel very fortunate to have been along for the ride. I was truly just a passenger on that day, enjoying gods gift, a wonderful horse doing amazing things.
